Ome

Ome is a city located in the western part of Tokyo Metropolis, Japan. It forms part of the Tama region and lies near the Tama Hills, with the Tama River and other streams in the surrounding area. The city covers a mix of residential neighborhoods, commercial districts, farmland, and forested areas, reflecting its position at the urban–rural interface of Tokyo.

As of 2023, Ome had an estimated population of about 140,000 people. The area is historically part of Musashi Province and developed as a regional hub in the modern era. Today it functions primarily as a residential community with local services and light industry supporting the surrounding area.
