Océ

Océ N.V. was a Dutch multinational that specialized in printing and copying technology, including production printers, office copiers, color and monochrome printers, and large-format systems used by commercial printers, graphic arts, and enterprise customers. The company also supplied software for print workflow and management, notably the PRISMA family. With roots as a family-owned business dating to the late 19th century in the Netherlands, Océ grew into a global supplier of digital printing solutions and related services.

In 2009 Canon Inc. announced the acquisition of Océ, with the deal closing in 2010. Océ was then integrated into Canon’s Printing and Imaging Group as Canon Production Printing. Over time the Océ brand was gradually folded into Canon Production Printing, though its legacy technology and product lines continued to influence Canon’s production printing offerings. Océ’s portfolio encompassed production printing devices, large-format systems, and workflow automation solutions that served commercial print providers, architectural and engineering markets, and other professional users.

Océ maintained a global footprint with manufacturing, sales, and service networks across Europe, North America, and Asia. Its innovations in digital printing, automation, and workflow management contributed to Canon’s expansion in the production printing sector, and many Océ technologies remain part of Canon’s contemporary production printing portfolio.
