Nortoria

Nortoria is a fictional sovereign state located on the northern continent of Valoria. It is bordered by the Northern Sea to the north, the Silvercrest Mountains to the south, and by neighboring states to the east and west. The capital is Northgate, and the largest city is Nortport. The country covers roughly 140,000 square kilometers and has an estimated population of about 6.2 million.

Its geography combines coastal lowlands, river valleys, and forested highlands. The climate is temperate maritime, with mild, wet winters and cool summers. The Silvercrest range hosts a number of protected areas and national parks, while major rivers such as the River Sol support agriculture and transport.

Historically a loose federation of principalities, Nortoria unified into a modern state during the 19th century and adopted a constitutional framework that remains in force today. The government is a parliamentary democracy with a bicameral legislature.

Executive power is headed by a prime minister as head of government and a president serving as the ceremonial head of state. The legislature consists of the National Assembly and the Senate. The judiciary is independent, and constitutional rights guarantee freedom of speech, assembly, and religion.

Nortoria has a diversified economy anchored in forestry, fisheries, manufacturing, and services. Key exports include timber, seafood products, and machinery components. The country pursues renewable energy development, with hydropower and wind contributing to electricity supply. Transportation infrastructure includes a coastal port system, an inland rail network, and road corridors linking major cities.

Ethnic Nortorians form the majority, with minority communities including Lorian-descended groups and immigrant populations. The official language is Nortorian, with several regional languages spoken. Education levels are high, and cultural institutions preserve literature, music, and regional traditions.
