Naticoides

Naticoides is a genus of predatory sea snails in the family Naticidae, the moon snails. Species within the genus are marine gastropods found worldwide, typically inhabiting sandy or muddy substrates in shallow coastal waters, though some occur at greater depths.

Taxonomy and relationship: Naticoides belongs to the family Naticidae within the caenogastropod mollusks. The genus is closely related to other naticid genera such as Natica and Neverita. Distribution and habitat: Global distribution in warm-temperate to tropical seas; commonly found in sandy or muddy substrates in exposed to sheltered coastal environments, from tidal flats to continental shelves. Some species occur in deeper offshore habitats.
