Mjukdelsmärta refers to pain originating in the soft tissues of the body, which include muscles, tendons, ligaments, fascia, and nerves. This type of pain is distinct from pain that arises from bones, joints, or internal organs. It is a common ailment with a wide range of potential causes.

The onset of mjukdelsmärta can be acute, resulting from a specific injury such as a sprain, strain, or bruise. Overuse of muscles or repetitive motions can also lead to pain, as can poor posture or biomechanics. Chronic mjukdelsmärta may develop gradually and can be associated with conditions like fibromyalgia, tendinopathy, or myofascial pain syndrome. Inflammatory processes within the soft tissues can also contribute to discomfort.

Symptoms typically include localized tenderness, aching, stiffness, and sometimes restricted movement.
