Description: Adults are small, typically 8 to 12 centimeters in snout–vent length, with a slender body, granular dorsal scales, and a prehensile tail. Dorsal coloration usually ranges from olive to brown, with a pale dorsolateral stripe; the ventral surface is lighter. Limbs are slender and equipped with curved claws suited for grasping branches. The head is pointed, and eyes are relatively large for scanning the leaves and branches it inhabits.

Distribution and habitat: In the fictional setting, Meandereita is endemic to the Meandra archipelago, a tropical rainforest region with dense canopy cover and seasonal leaf fall. It favors mid- to high-canopy microhabitats and primary forest, but may also be found in secondary growth adjacent to rivers and streams.

Behavior and ecology: Meandereita is described as crepuscular and primarily insectivorous, with occasional fruit consumption. It moves with a zigzag, climbing locomotion that helps it navigate tangled branches and cling to narrow supports. Camouflage and slow, deliberate movements aid its avoidance of predators.
