In practice, Materialabgabe involves selecting the required items, preparing or picking them, packaging as needed, and posting the goods issue in the enterprise resource planning (ERP) system. This posting reduces available stock and records the consumption of materials for cost accounting and planning purposes. The process may include batch or serial number handling, quality checks, and regulatory compliance, depending on the material and application.
