Masire
Quett Ketumile Joni Masire (1925–2017), commonly known as Quett Masire, was a Botswana politician and statesman who served as the second President of Botswana from 1980 to 1998. A key figure in post-independence governance, Masire was a long-time member of the Botswana Democratic Party (BDP) and held various government and party roles before becoming president.
Masire was born in 1925 in the Bechuanaland Protectorate and trained as a teacher before entering politics.
