Maschsee
The Maschsee is an artificial lake located in Hannover, Lower Saxony, Germany. It lies to the west of the city center and is part of the Masch district, adjacent to the Maschpark and near the Eilenriede, the city’s large urban forest. The lake was created in the 1930s by transforming a marshy area into a large decorative body of water as part of urban park development, with construction and opening taking place in the late 1930s. Its name derives from the surrounding Masch area.
