LõunaAmeerikale, often referred to as "South America" in English, is a geographic and cultural region located in the Western Hemisphere, predominantly in the Southern Hemisphere, with a relatively small portion in the Northern Hemisphere. It is bordered on the west by the Pacific Ocean and on the north and east by the Atlantic Ocean. The Isthmus of Panama connects it to North America. The continent is comprised of twelve sovereign states: Argentina, Bolivia, Brazil, Chile, Colombia, Ecuador, Guyana, Paraguay, Peru, Suriname, Uruguay, and Venezuela, as well as one overseas territory, French Guiana.

The diverse geography of LõunaAmeerikale is remarkable. It includes the vast Amazon rainforest, the longest mountain range in the world, the Andes, and arid deserts like the Atacama. The continent's climate ranges from tropical rainforests near the equator to alpine tundras in the Andes and arid conditions in the south.

Culturally, LõunaAmeerikale is a rich tapestry woven from Indigenous, European (primarily Spanish and Portuguese), African, and Asian influences. This diversity is reflected in its languages, religions, music, dance, cuisine, and traditions. Spanish and Portuguese are the most widely spoken languages, with significant Indigenous languages also in use. Brazil, the largest country by both area and population, is Portuguese-speaking, while most other nations are Spanish-speaking. The region is predominantly Roman Catholic, though other Christian denominations and a variety of other religions are also practiced. LõunaAmeerikale is renowned for its vibrant festivals, such as Carnival, and its distinctive musical styles like samba and tango.
