Ljusförluster

Ljusförluster, or light losses, refer to the reduction in light output or transmission that occurs in optical systems, such as lighting fixtures, fiber optic cables, or lenses. These losses can be attributed to various factors and are a critical consideration in the design and efficiency of optical systems.

One primary cause of ljusförluster is absorption, where light is absorbed by the material through which it passes, converting light energy into heat. This is particularly relevant in materials like glass or plastic, where impurities or inherent properties can lead to significant absorption losses. Another major factor is scattering, where light is deflected from its original path due to interactions with particles or imperfections in the material.
