Lisääntymistavoiksi refers to the diverse methods by which living organisms produce offspring. Asexual reproduction involves a single parent producing genetically identical offspring. This process leads to offspring that are genetically distinct from either parent. The genetic variation introduced by sexual reproduction provides populations with a greater capacity to adapt to changing environments and increases their resilience to evolutionary pressures. While often more complex and energy-intensive, sexual reproduction is prevalent in many multicellular organisms. The specific methods of sexual reproduction vary greatly, including internal and external fertilization, and different forms of courtship and mating rituals.
