Leveransdokument

Leveransdokument is a document that accompanies a shipment and records what has been delivered. In logistics and procurement practice it serves as a basis for verifying that the goods received match what was ordered, and it is often referred to as a delivery note or följesedel in Swedish contexts. The leveransdokument may exist as a standalone paper document or as an electronic record integrated with an enterprise resource planning (ERP) system or electronic data interchange (EDI).

Typical contents include the sender and recipient information, the delivery date, and a reference to the related purchase order. It provides an itemized list of delivered goods, including article numbers, descriptions, quantities, unit of measure, and packaging details. Where applicable, lot or batch numbers and serial numbers are recorded. The document may also indicate delivery terms and reference numbers to assist reconciliation, and it often includes a space for the recipient’s acknowledgement or signature.

Use and workflow generally involve transmitting the leveransdokument with the shipment or making it available electronically to the recipient. The recipient uses it to verify quantities and conditions, update inventory records, and initiate payment or invoicing processes. Discrepancies or damaged items are noted on the document for resolution and returns processing. In practice, the leveransdokument is part of the order-to-cash or procure-to-pay cycle and is closely linked to packing lists and invoices.
