Laitevalmistus, or device manufacturing, is the process of turning design concepts into market-ready devices. The typical workflow starts with design, prototyping and testing, followed by tooling, process development and supplier qualification. Mass production proceeds with component sourcing, assembly, firmware or software integration, final testing, calibration, and packaging before the product is distributed and supported throughout its life cycle.

Manufacturing methods vary by product. Electronics-heavy devices use PCB assembly and surface-mount technology, while mechanical parts rely on injection molding, CNC machining or metal forming. Automation, robotics, and lean quality control help ensure consistency, traceability, and efficient production.

Regulatory and standards frameworks guide laitevalmistus. In the EU, products typically require conformity assessment and CE marking, with RoHS and REACH compliance.
