LEDModulen

LEDModulen is a modular LED platform used for customizable lighting installations. The concept focuses on assembling multiple small LED modules into larger arrays to suit fields such as architectural lighting, signage, and display illumination. By combining standardized modules, designers can tailor brightness, color temperature, and shape while simplifying maintenance and replacement.

A typical LEDModulen module consists of a printed circuit board with one or more LED emitters, a thermal interface, and a mechanical/ electrical connector system. Modules may be single-color or multi-color (including tunable white) and can incorporate on-board drivers or rely on external LED drivers. Interconnection is designed to enable linear, planar, or curved configurations, with thermal management provided by metal housings, heatsinks, or aluminum backs.

Applications include architectural facades and interiors, retail and signage, stage and display lighting, and backlighting for panels. Outdoor use requires environmental protection, with IP-rated enclosures and approved driver electronics.

Advantages of LEDModulen include scalability, ease of replacement, consistent color and performance across modules, and efficient heat dissipation. Potential considerations include ensuring matched color and brightness across modules and providing adequate thermal paths and power distribution to prevent drift.
