Käyttöliittymäksi is the translative form of the Finnish noun käyttöliittymä, meaning “as a user interface” or “to become a user interface.” Käyttöliittymä[a] refers to the part of an information system that enables a person to interact with it. The term is commonly used in information technology, software engineering, and product design.

A käyttöliittymä is the point of contact between humans and a system, encompassing various modalities for interaction.
