This is typically done in a soundproof booth using specialized equipment. Consecutive interpreting involves the interpreter listening to a segment of speech, then delivering the interpretation once the speaker has finished speaking. This method is often used in smaller meetings or when interpreters are not working in a booth.

Konverentsitõlkidel often work in teams, especially for longer events or when multiple language combinations are required. They must possess excellent listening comprehension skills, a strong command of at least two languages (one of which is usually their native tongue), and a broad knowledge base to understand the subject matter being discussed. They also need to be adept at working under pressure and maintaining high levels of concentration for extended periods.
