Klávesnica

Klávesnica is the Slovak word for keyboard. A keyboard is a peripheral device that allows a user to input text and commands into a computer or other electronic device. It consists of a set of keys, typically arranged in rows, that represent letters, numbers, symbols, and various control functions. When a key is pressed, it sends a signal to the device, which is then interpreted as a specific character or command.

There are several types of keyboards, including mechanical keyboards, which use individual mechanical switches for each key, and membrane keyboards, which use a pressure-pad membrane layer. Keyboards come in various layouts, such as QWERTY, which is the most common layout in many countries, and AZERTY, used in some European countries. Ergonomic keyboards are designed to promote a more natural hand and wrist posture, aiming to reduce strain during prolonged use.

Keyboards are essential input devices for a wide range of applications, from typing documents and browsing the internet to playing video games and programming. Their design and functionality have evolved significantly over time, but their core purpose remains the same: to provide a tactile and efficient way for humans to communicate with machines.
