Katteallergener
Katteallergener refer to specific proteins produced by cats that can trigger allergic reactions in sensitive individuals. The most common and potent allergen is Fel d 1, found in a cat's saliva, skin glands, and urine. When cats groom themselves, they spread saliva containing Fel d 1 over their fur and skin. This protein then becomes airborne, especially from shed dander (dead skin cells), and can remain in the environment for extended periods. Other less significant allergens include Fel d 4, found in saliva, and Fel d 7, present in dander.
