Järglus

Järglus is a term found in Scandinavian folklore and in contemporary fantasy that refers to a small, elusive being connected with lineage and succession. The word is believed to derive from roots associated with heirs or successors, and in traditional tales the järglus is described as a diminutive forest spirit or familiar that resides near homesteads and woodlands.

In folk narratives, the järglus is usually depicted as a pale, shy creature—sometimes a tiny humanoid or a moonlit insect-like being—that appears at twilight.
