Jacquardv refers to a method of weaving developed by Joseph Marie Jacquard in the late 18th century. This innovation revolutionized textile production by allowing for complex patterns to be woven into fabric with unprecedented ease and precision. The Jacquard loom operates using a system of punched cards, where each card represents a row of the pattern. The presence or absence of a hole on a card dictates whether a warp thread is lifted or lowered, thus controlling which weft threads are visible on the surface of the fabric.
