Inaktivácia

Inaktivácia refers to the process of rendering something inactive, non-functional, or incapable of producing its usual effect. This term can be applied across various fields, including biology, chemistry, and computer science.

In biology, inactivation often describes the deactivation of a gene, protein, or enzyme. This can occur naturally as part of cellular regulation or be induced by external factors such as heat, chemicals, or radiation. For example, a virus can be inactivated by heat, making it no longer capable of causing infection. Similarly, enzymes can be inactivated if their specific three-dimensional structure is disrupted, preventing them from catalyzing their intended reactions.
