IaaSi

IaaSi is a term used in cloud computing discussions to describe an approach that blends infrastructure-as-a-service with integrated services and tooling. In an IaaSi deployment, core IaaS resources such as compute, storage, and networks are provided together with management and integration capabilities to streamline deployment and operations across on-premises, public cloud, and edge environments.

Key components typically include: the IaaS resource layer (virtual machines, block storage, virtual networks); an integrated management plane (self-service portals, automation, billing); platform services (containers, databases, messaging); security and compliance tooling (identity and access management, encryption, policy enforcement); an integration layer (APIs, connectors, service mesh) and automation pipelines for CI/CD.

Architectures are often multi-layered and API-driven, designed for hybrid or multi-cloud deployments. The emphasis is on a single operational model across environments, enabling consistent governance, policy enforcement, and telemetry. Some implementations are vendor-specific, while others are open and modular.

Benefits include faster provisioning, improved governance and security, operational consistency, and easier migration and disaster recovery planning. Typical use cases are hybrid cloud workloads, DevOps pipelines, data-intensive applications, and regulated industries requiring integrated security and compliance controls.
