Plots are rented to members under tenancy agreements, with rules on upkeep, accessibility, and permitted structures.

Size and layout vary: plots are usually hundreds of square meters, with features such as vegetable beds, fruit trees, flower borders, composting areas, and small sheds. Access, water supply, and waste management are organized through the association; fencing is often required to delineate plots and ensure privacy and safety.

Maintenance and regulation: Members must keep their plots cultivated and tidy; there are rules about pesticide use, water conservation, and the construction of adjoined buildings or huts. Community rules also cover neighborly conduct, plot sharing, and seasonal work during spring and autumn.
