Histogrammstegh
Histogrammstegh, or histogram steganography in German, describes a family of techniques for hiding information within the statistical distribution of pixel values in digital images or other media. The central idea is to manipulate the image histogram in a controlled way so that the embedded payload remains perceptually invisible while allowing extraction of the hidden data. In reversible variants, the original cover can be reconstructed exactly from the marked image.
Common approaches rely on histogram shifting. In grayscale images, the histogram records how often each pixel
Histogrammstegh is used for covert communications, watermarking, and digital rights management where payload integrity and image
Variants extend to color images, video, and multi-dimensional data, often combining histogram shifting with other data-hiding
