While some degree of gátlástalanság can be a natural part of personality, extreme or persistent forms may indicate underlying psychological factors, such as low self-esteem, impulsivity, or certain mental health conditions.

The origins of gátlástalanság can be multifaceted. It may stem from environmental influences, such as upbringing or social conditioning, where individuals learn to suppress their impulses less effectively.
