Gridtyps

Gridtyps is a term that refers to various methods and systems used for dividing geographical areas into a structured, often uniform, grid. These systems are fundamental in many fields, including cartography, urban planning, surveying, and geographic information systems (GIS). The primary purpose of a grid system is to provide a standardized framework for locating, measuring, and analyzing spatial data.

Common examples include latitude and longitude grids, which are based on spherical coordinates and are used for global navigation. In localized contexts, rectilinear grids, such as the Universal Transverse Mercator (UTM) system, are employed.
