Gandhinagar
Gandhinagar is the capital of the Indian state of Gujarat. Located on the western side of the country, it sits on the north bank of the Sabarmati River and lies about 23 kilometers north of Ahmedabad. The city was established in 1960 to serve as the new seat of government for Gujarat, replacing Ahmedabad as the state capital. It is named after Mahatma Gandhi and was conceived as a planned urban center with wide avenues, greenery, and distinct sectors.
