Fulves

Fulves are a fictional species of humanoid creatures originating from the *Warhammer 40,000* universe, specifically within the *Dark Eldar* lore. Often referred to as "Fulvian" or "Fulvian slaves," they are a genetically engineered race created by the Dark Eldar to serve as expendable laborers and warriors. Fulves are physically distinct from other Dark Eldar, possessing a more robust and muscular build, with a slightly paler, sickly complexion and elongated limbs. Their most notable feature is their large, glowing yellow eyes, which are highly sensitive to light and allow them to see in near-total darkness.

Fulves are bred in the vast, labyrinthine depths of the Dark Eldar’s homeworld, Commorragh, within the infamous *Hive Cities*. They are raised in harsh conditions, subjected to brutal training, and often used as disposable soldiers in the Dark Eldar’s endless wars. Their primary roles include frontline combat, scouting, and as shock troops in battle. Due to their expendable nature, Fulves are frequently sacrificed in high-risk missions, such as boarding actions or suicide charges.

Biologically, Fulves are genetically modified to enhance their strength, endurance, and resilience, though they lack the innate psychic abilities of their Dark Eldar creators. Their lifespan is significantly shorter than that of other Dark Eldar, further emphasizing their role as disposable assets. Fulves are also known to exhibit heightened aggression and loyalty to their masters, making them effective but unpredictable warriors.

In popular culture, Fulves have appeared in various media adaptations of *Warhammer 40,000*, including video games, novels, and tabletop miniatures. Their design and role reflect the Dark Eldar’s utilitarian and cruel philosophy, where life is valued only in terms of its utility to the greater collective.
