Feuerkontakt is a term used in German-speaking regions to describe a type of fire detection device commonly known in English as a fire contact switch or fire temperature contact. The device consists of a pair of electrical contacts enclosed in a temperature-sensitive material. When the surrounding temperature rises to a pre-set level, the material expands or melts, causing the contacts to open or close. This action completes a circuit that activates fire suppression systems, alarms, or emergency shutdowns.
