The type species is Entalpis novus.

Description: Entalpis novus is conceived as a small arboreal rodent, about 18 centimeters in body length with a 9-centimeter tail, and weighing around 120–180 grams. It has soft gray-brown fur, prominent incisor teeth typical of murids, and a prehensile tail enabling agile climbing.

Distribution and habitat: In the fictional setting, Entalpis novus inhabits temperate deciduous forests of the imagined continent of Virelia. It prefers mid- to high-canopy niches and is seldom seen on the ground.

Ecology and behavior: It is primarily nocturnal and omnivorous, feeding on seeds, fruits, and invertebrates. Reproduction is seasonal to the temperate climate, with litters of 1–4 offspring after a gestation around 28 days. Juveniles reach independence within 6–8 weeks.
