Elektronlaine is a hypothetical conductive material described in theoretical discussions of electronic textiles and flexible electronics. It is envisioned as a quasi-1D polymer-graphene composite that combines the mechanical flexibility of polymers with the high charge-carrier mobility of two-dimensional carbon lattices.

In proposed models, elektronlaine comprises alternating conductive nanolayers or chains embedded within a flexible polymer matrix, producing anisotropic electrical conduction that is strongest along the fiber axis. Synthesis methods proposed include oriented self-assembly of carbon-based nanosheets within a polymer solution, followed by extrusion or wet-spinning to form fibers, or layer-by-layer deposition on textile substrates. The term emphasizes "electron" and "laine" to reflect electronic performance and textile-like form factor.

The speculated properties include high electron mobility at room temperature, low energy loss, chemical and environmental stability, good fatigue resistance, and compatibility with low-temperature processing; tunable conductivity by chemical doping or field activation; and potential for transparent or semi-transparent films on textiles.

If realized, elektronlaine could enable highly integrated wearables—chips directly woven into fabrics, flexible sensors, energy storage integrated into clothing, and soft robotics components. It could also contribute to smart packaging and flexible displays.

The name blends "electron" and laine (French for wool), signaling the combination of electronic performance with textile form. As a concept, elektronlaine has appeared in speculative discussions and is not known to have been synthesized widely in laboratory practice. It remains a subject of interest for researchers exploring the limits of conductive textiles and polymer-graphene composites.
