Elektriliine

Elektriliine is a term used in technical contexts to denote an electrical line that carries electric power or signals between points in an electrical network. It is a core element of the electrical grid, connecting generation sources, substations, and end users. The term can refer to both transmission lines, which transport electricity over long distances at high voltages, and distribution lines, which deliver power to consumers at lower voltage levels. Elektriliine can take the form of overhead lines with conductors mounted on towers or poles, or underground cables laid in trenches or ducts.

Overhead elektrikliine typically consists of conductors suspended above ground, with insulators, protective equipment, and supporting structures. These lines are designed to handle variable weather conditions, mechanical loads, and electrical stresses while maintaining safe clearances from obstacles and vegetation. Underground elektrikliine use insulated cables, often laid in conduits or ducts, offering reduced visual impact and better protection from weather but generally increasing installation and repair costs. Key design considerations include voltage level, transmission capacity, right-of-way constraints, insulation, thermal ratings, and fault protection. Maintenance covers periodic inspections, vegetation management, fault tracing, and replacement of aging components to maintain reliability and safety. Regulatory and safety standards govern clearances, electromagnetic compatibility, and procedures for switching and fault isolation.
