Edénykerámiák

Edénykerámiák are ceramic vessels used for cooking, serving, and storing food and beverages. They form a broad category within ceramic art and archaeology, typically made from fired clay and often coated with glazes to improve durability and reduce porosity. They differ from purely decorative ceramics by their functional purpose.

Production methods include wheel throwing, hand-building, and slip casting. The clay is tempered and shaped, then dried and fired in a kiln at varying temperatures, yielding earthenware, stoneware, or porcelain. Glazes provide watertightness, color, and surface protection.
