Dørpaneler, or door panels, are the flat sections that make up the surface of a door. They can be made from various materials such as wood, metal, glass, or composite materials. The design and construction of door panels significantly influence a door's appearance, durability, and insulation properties.

In traditional wooden doors, panels are often inset into a frame, creating a raised or recessed effect. These panels can be solid wood or sometimes made of thinner plywood or MDF. The type of wood used, such as oak, pine, or mahogany, can add to the aesthetic and cost of the door. Decorative carvings or moldings can also be applied to door panels.

Modern doors often feature simpler, flush door panels. These are made from a single, continuous surface, offering a sleeker look. Composite materials, like fiberglass or steel, are commonly used for flush panels in exterior doors due to their resistance to weather and damage.

Glass panels are another common feature, especially in interior doors or decorative exterior designs. These can range from clear glass to frosted, etched, or stained glass, offering varying degrees of light transmission and privacy. The placement and type of glass panels can dramatically alter the ambiance of a room or entryway.

The structural integrity of a door often relies on the way its panels are attached and reinforced. In some cases, panels might be glued, screwed, or held in place by glazing beads. The choice of door panel material and construction method affects not only the door's visual appeal but also its performance in terms of security, sound insulation, and thermal efficiency.
