Doubleneedles
Doubleneedles, commonly called twin needles, are two needles mounted in parallel on a single needle bar of a sewing machine. They enable two parallel rows of stitches to be formed simultaneously on the fabric’s top surface while using a single bobbin thread beneath. This configuration is widely used for decorative topstitching, hemming knits and wovens, and other finishing tasks that benefit from a neat two-line look. The spacing between the needles, often referred to as the gauge, can vary, with common values ranging from about 2 mm to 6 mm depending on machine capability and fabric.
