In the framework of classical control theory, a linear time-invariant system is controllable if the state can be moved to any desired point in finite time via an appropriate input. Controllabilitythrough reframes this idea for modern, distributed systems by considering how controllability emerges from the combined action of several actuators (inputs), sensing elements, and the connectivity of the system graph.
