Contravenazionale

Contravenazionale is an Italian neologistic adjective used to describe actions, policies, or discourse that contravene national law, norms, or sovereignty. The term is formed from contravvenire (to contravene) and nazionale (national), and it appears predominantly in legal commentary and political analysis rather than in formal statutes. Its scope is context-dependent and not firmly standardized, but it is generally applied to measures or proposals perceived as violating the principles, constitutional order, or statutory framework of a nation.

In practice, contravenazionale can refer to policies considered contrary to national interests or to norms upheld by the state, as well as to ideological movements whose rhetoric or actions clash with what is framed as national unity or identity. The term may also be used to discuss cross-border activities that evade or undermine national criminal or administrative law, though such usage remains informal and contested.
