CICDvoogudest

CICDvoogudest is a hypothetical, vendor-agnostic open specification for cross-tool CI/CD pipelines. It describes a portable model for orchestrating continuous integration and continuous deployment workflows across different development tools and environments. The goal is to improve interoperability, reproducibility, and security of software delivery by abstracting pipeline logic from any single vendor or platform.

At its core, CICDvoogudest defines a declarative pipeline language, a common metadata model for jobs, stages, artifacts, and environment resources, and runtime semantics for execution, tracing, and rollback. A pipeline consists of stages such as build, test, package, and deploy; each stage may contain multiple jobs with explicit dependencies. Artifacts are versioned, stored in an artifact registry, and consumed by downstream stages. Triggers respond to events from version control, issue trackers, or monitoring signals. The specification also includes policy constructs for approvals, security checks, and compliance requirements, and supports various deployment strategies, including blue/green, canary, and rolling upgrades.

Architecturally, CICDvoogudest envisions a Pipeline Engine plus adapters to source control, build systems, artifact registries, and cloud platforms. A registry of reusable templates and modules promotes reuse and standardization. The metadata model is designed to be extensible, allowing vendor-specific features to be expressed as optional extensions while preserving portability. The specification emphasizes security, with secrets management, access controls, and audit logging baked into the runtime model.

As a conceptual framework, CICDvoogudest has been discussed in academic and industry contexts to illustrate cross-tool orchestration. There is no formal, universally adopted standard by major standards bodies, and implementations remain experimental or in vendor-specific form. Proposals often emphasize interoperability, governance, and the need for community-driven extensions.
