Buskars, more commonly called buskers, are street performers who entertain in public spaces such as sidewalks, plazas, transit hubs, and markets with the aim of earning money from passersby through tips or donations. The range of performances is broad and includes music, dancing, magic, juggling, mime, comedy, puppetry, poetry, and visual art. Busking emphasizes accessibility and immediacy, with performers often engaging directly with audiences in informal, open settings.

Practices and equipment vary widely. Many buskers use portable audio systems, acoustic instruments, amplifiers, loop pedals, or props that are easy to transport. Performances are typically short and scheduled to catch crowds during peak foot traffic, but some buskers seek longer engagements in designated spaces. Income depends on factors such as location, time of day, talent, and crowd engagement, and may come from tips, hat collections, or digital payment methods.
