BusinessEurope is a leading European business federation representing the interests of companies across the European Union and beyond. Founded in 1958 as the European Federation of National Employers’ Confederations (UNICE), it evolved into its current form in 2005 to better reflect the needs of modern businesses. The organization serves as a platform for dialogue between employers, policymakers, and other stakeholders, advocating for policies that foster economic growth, competitiveness, and sustainable development.

BusinessEurope brings together 42 national employers’ organizations from 36 European countries, encompassing a wide range of industries, including manufacturing, services, retail, and technology. Its membership includes major business associations such as the German Confederation of Employers’ Associations (BDA), the French Employers’ Confederation (MEDEF), and the Italian Union of Industrial and Employers’ Associations (Confindustria). By aggregating the voices of these diverse groups, BusinessEurope amplifies the influence of European businesses in shaping EU legislation and international trade agreements.

The organization focuses on key policy areas such as digitalization, green transition, labor market reforms, and trade.
