This architecture gives high rigidity and large hydrodynamic radius, affecting solubility, viscosity, and self-assembly. In materials science, nanoparticles or colloids may be fabricated with bottlebrush-shaped morphologies by grafting polymer brushes onto cores, resulting in distinctive surface properties.
