Blokkperiodizáció

Blokkperiodizáció is a training methodology used in strength and conditioning that involves dividing an athlete's training year into distinct blocks, each with a specific focus. These blocks are typically sequential and build upon each other, aiming to optimize performance for key competitions.

The fundamental principle behind blokkperiodizáció is the systematic manipulation of training variables such as volume, intensity, and exercise selection. A common structure might include an accumulation phase, characterized by higher volume and lower intensity, to build a base of strength and endurance. This is followed by a transformation phase, where volume decreases and intensity increases, focusing on converting the accumulated physical qualities into sport-specific power and strength. Finally, a realization phase, or competition phase, involves very low volume and very high intensity, with a focus on peaking for performance.

This approach contrasts with traditional linear periodization, where volume gradually decreases and intensity gradually increases over a longer period. Blokkperiodizáció, also known as block periodization or conjugated periodization, allows for multiple peaks in performance throughout a competitive season by incorporating shorter, more intense training cycles. The success of this method relies on careful planning, accurate assessment of the athlete's response to training, and flexibility to adjust the blocks as needed. It is often employed by athletes in sports requiring high levels of strength and power, such as weightlifting, powerlifting, and some team sports.
