Backregulatorer

Backregulatorer, often translated as back regulators or counter-regulators, are components in various mechanical and industrial systems designed to manage or control the movement and position of a movable part, typically a lid, door, or cover. Their primary function is to provide a controlled descent or opening motion, preventing sudden slams or uncontrolled drops. This is achieved through a mechanism that uses hydraulic or pneumatic resistance, or sometimes a spring-loaded system with damping.

The principle behind most backregulatorer involves a cylinder containing a piston and a fluid (oil or air). As the lid or door moves, the piston travels within the cylinder, forcing the fluid through small orifices. The resistance created by this fluid flow dictates the speed of the movement.
