The term *astiastojen* is not widely recognized in English but appears in some Finnish and Scandinavian contexts, possibly derived from the Finnish word *astia* (meaning "vessel" or "container") combined with the suffix *-jen*, which can indicate a plural possessive form. However, this usage is not standard and may be a localized or poetic reference.

Meteor showers, which are periodic events where numerous meteoroids enter the atmosphere in a short timeframe, are often associated with astiastojen.
