Arvolähtöanalyysi

Arvolähtöanalyysi, often translated as value stream analysis or value stream mapping, is a lean manufacturing tool used to visualize and analyze the flow of materials and information required to bring a product or service to a customer. It helps identify and eliminate waste within a process, thereby improving efficiency and reducing lead times. The core of the method involves mapping out every step of a process, from raw materials or the initial customer request to the final delivery. This map typically includes details such as cycle times, inventory levels, processing times, and information flow.

The primary goal of arvolähtöanalyysi is to distinguish between value-adding activities and non-value-adding activities (waste). Waste can manifest in various forms, including overproduction, waiting, transportation, excess inventory, unnecessary motion, defects, and underutilized talent. By visually representing the entire value stream, teams can pinpoint where these inefficiencies occur.
