Antivenomok

Antivenomok is a brand of antivenom produced by the Indian company Serum Institute of India (SII). It is specifically designed to treat snake bites, particularly those caused by Indian snakes. The antivenom is a polyclonal antibody preparation, which means it is derived from the blood of animals that have been immunized against snake venom.

The antivenom is available in two forms: Antivenomok Plus and Antivenomok. Antivenomok Plus is a polyvalent antivenom that provides protection against a wide range of snake venoms, including those from cobras, kraits, and krait-like snakes. Antivenomok, on the other hand, is a monovalent antivenom that is specific to the venom of the Indian cobra.

The antivenom is administered intravenously and is typically given in a dose of 200 units per kg of body weight. The treatment is usually initiated within four hours of the bite, although it can be effective up to 12 hours after the bite in some cases.

The antivenom is produced using a proprietary technology developed by SII, which involves the use of hybridoma technology. This technology allows for the large-scale production of high-quality antivenom at a relatively low cost.
