Ansichtsfenster

Ansichtsfenster, literally “view window” in German, refers to a display region within a software application that renders a view of a larger dataset, scene, or document. It defines what portion of the content is visible at a given time and provides a coordinate mapping from the content’s logical coordinates to the device (screen) coordinates. An Ansichtsfenster is typically characterized by its size, position, and the view transformation (such as translation, rotation, and zoom) applied to content before rendering.

In computer graphics and CAD, the Ansichtsfenster corresponds to a camera view or viewport. The rendering pipeline includes world coordinates, a view transformation, projection, and finally screen coordinates, with clipping performed against the window boundaries.
