Anophelessukuiset
Anophelessukuiset refers to a group of mosquitoes belonging to the genus Anopheles. This genus is significant because it includes the species that are primary vectors of malaria, a serious and often fatal disease caused by Plasmodium parasites. Anopheles mosquitoes are found worldwide, with particular prevalence in tropical and subtropical regions where malaria transmission is highest. They are characterized by their distinctive resting posture, where their proboscis and abdomen are held in a straight line, unlike other mosquito genera whose bodies are held in a more hunched position.
The life cycle of Anopheles mosquitoes, like other mosquitoes, involves four stages: egg, larva, pupa, and adult.
