Aneurysmakorja

Aneurysmakorja is a Finnish term that translates to "aneurysm repair" or "aneurysm treatment." It refers to the medical procedures used to address aneurysms, which are abnormal bulges or ballooning in the wall of a blood vessel. These bulges can occur in arteries anywhere in the body, but are most commonly found in the aorta (the body's main artery) and in the arteries of the brain.

The decision to treat an aneurysm is typically based on its size, location, growth rate, and the patient's overall health. The primary goals of aneurysm repair are to prevent rupture, which can lead to life-threatening bleeding, and to restore normal blood flow.

There are two main approaches to aneurysmakorja: open surgical repair and endovascular repair. Open surgery involves surgically cutting open the affected area, removing the weakened section of the blood vessel, and replacing it with a graft. Endovascular repair is a less invasive technique where a thin tube (catheter) is inserted into a blood vessel, usually in the groin, and guided to the aneurysm.
